PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
If you are planning to stay more than a couple of days in Istanbul it would be recommended to buy a pre-paid ticket system (AKBIL) to use the integrated public transportation system. Akbil can be used in public busses, subway (Metro), tramway and the ferries. For more information about public transport in Istanbul, please visit following links;

ISTANBUL ATATURK AIRPORT - TAKSIM BY HAVATAS SHUTTLE

There are also shuttle buses operated by a company called Havatas which is approximately € 5. You can use HAVATAS* shuttle buses to reach the city center (Taksim Square) from TAV Airport and SAW.
You can catch the HAVATAS buses every 30 minutes from the airport and it takes between around 45 minutes to 1 hour from Ataturk Airport to Taksim.
Then, you can take a taxi from Taksim to Hotels. it will cost around 5-10 Euro. Or you can use the underground metro system from Taksim.
ISTANBUL ATATURK AIRPORT - HOTEL’S
A taxi stand is located outside the arrival area, in front of the Terminal Building. Taxi service is provided by the Ataturk Airport Taxi Cooperative. Drivers are well trained and usually speaks foreign languages.
Taxis are painted mostly yellow with a roof-light to identify them. In towns they use taximeters. From Istanbul Ataturk Airport to the Hotel’s taxi cost will be 15-20 Euro.

Visa Support Letters
The Association for Computing Machinery does not issue formal invitation letters for visas to attend ACM sponsored conferences. We can however issue a visa support letter. For Visa support letters, please send all requests to the Office of SIG Services supportletters@acm.org
with the following information:
- Your name as it appears on your passport
- Current postal mailing address
- The name of the conference you wish to attend
- Your Registration Confirmation Number
- If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please provide the title and indicate whether you are the ‘sole author’ or a ‘co- author’
Please note visa support letters are issued via email by PDF and the original is mailed to your current postal address.
