The ICMI 2016 main conference will be held at the National Museum of
Emerging Science and Innovation, Miraikan("
未来館" in Japanese, which means a house of future). Miraikan is located
at Odaiba area in Tokyo, a scenic beautiful waterfront area. It is a
new type of science museum that links people directly to the new wisdom
of the 21st century. There are various permanent and special
exhibitions as well as a dome theater. The conference participants are
very welcome to have a look at the exhibitions to experience the latest
technlogy and science during conference breaks.
The main conference will be in Miraikan Hall while the demo and
poster session will be held in meeting room No. 2 and No. 3. Coffee break will be in Innovation Hall. All these rooms are at
7th floor. The second venue is another building within 3-min walk from
Miraikan, the Time 24 Building.
Grand Challenge and Doctoral Consortium will be
held there on 12th. Workshops will be held there on 16th. There are
many restaurants and food courts within walking distance from the
conference venue. The banquet will be held at Meiji Kinenkan,
a historical place for the formulation of the old Imperial
Constitution. The total area of the site is about 33,000 square meters,
and there is a very beautiful lawn garden in front of the banquet hall.
Access to the Conference Venue from the Airpots
Tokyo has two international airports, Haneda Airport is located inside Tokyo's urban area while the larger airport, Narita Airport is located in Chiba, a nearby prefecture of Tokyo. Both of these aiports have large number of flights connecting to main airports all around the world. Please choose the most convenient flight/airport for you, and the followings are our recommendations of how you can access the conference venue from each of the airports.
Yurikamome Line is the most convenient way to access Odaiba area. It connects to JR lines at Shinbashi(U-01).

From Narita Airport
By train :
The fastest way from Narita Airport to Miraikan via trains is: take the express train, Keisei Skyliner of Keisei Electric Railway to Nippori station (KS-02, 36 min) and then make a transfer with JR's Yamanote Line to Shinbashi station (JY-29, 16 min).
There, you can take the Yurikamome monorail train to Odaiba area. Get off
at Telecom Center station (U-09, 18 min), which is the closest station
to the conference venue (Miraikan: 6-min walk, Time24 Bldg.: 2-min walk).
The total cost is 3,020 JPY.
The easiest way to get to Miraikan from Narita Airport should be by the limousine bus. You can take a limousine bus from Narita Airport to Hotel Sunroute Ariake where is located in Odaiba area (70 min). You can then take the train of Yurikamome monorail from Kokusai-tenjijo-seimon station (U-11) to Telecom Center station (U-09, 4 min). The total cost is 3,050 JPY.
Taking a taxi from Narita Airport to Miraikan directly costs approximately 23,000 JPY in two hours.
From Haneda Airport
By train :
Haneda Airport is near Odaiba area, and you can simply take a train of Tokyo Monorail from the airport to Tennozu Isle station (MO02, 15 min) and make a transfer to Tokyo Teleport station (R-04) via JR's Rinkai line(3 min). The walk from Tokyo Teleport station to Miraikan is about 15 minutes. The total cost is 550 JPY.
Taking a taxi from Haneda Airport to Miraikan directly costs approximately 4,400 JPY in 30 minutes.
Bay Shuttle:
A free shuttle bus called "Bay Shuttle" is available
around Daiba. It travels through Tokyo Teleport Station, Daiba Station,
two hotels, several stores and Miraikan. Please check its schedule and
