Visa Information

DEPENDING ON YOUR CITIZENSHIP, YOU MAY NEED TO OBTAIN A VISA BEFORE COMING TO ITALY.

Countries that do not require a special visa for interconnections are the Schengen countries. Travelling on a Schengen Visa means that the visa holder can travel to any (or all) member countries using one single visa, thus avoiding the hassle and expense of obtaining individual visas for each country. This is particularly beneficial for persons who wish to visit several European countries on the same trip.

FOR DETAILED INFORMATION:

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED A FORMAL INVITATION LETTER FROM THE CONFERENCE LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE THAT JUSTIFIES YOUR NEED TO ENTER ITALY.

VISA SUPPORT LETTERS WILL BE ISSUED ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED AND PAID FOR YOUR CONFERENCE.

YOU MUST INCLUDE:

  • Your name as appears on your passport
  • Date of Birth
  • Passport Number
  • Passport Date of Issue
  • Passport Date of Expiry
  • Paper or poster Title (*for authors)

*NOTE: OBTAINING A VISA SUPPORT LETTER FROM THE CONFERENCE WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOUR SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION WILL BE APPROVED. THE LETTER IS MERELY SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION THAT EXPLAINS A VISA APPLICANT’S INTENDED PURPOSE OF TRAVEL TO ITALY.
