Social Activities

Beyond the technical program, ICMI 2026 will offer several opportunities for participants to meet, connect, and enjoy memorable social experiences in Naples and its surroundings.

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be held for participants in the Cortile delle Statue of the University of Naples Federico II, located at Via Mezzocannone 8, 80134 Naples, Italy.

Dating back to the seventeenth century, this monumental courtyard is distinguished by its elegant piperno portico and statues celebrating prominent figures of Neapolitan culture, making it one of the university’s most evocative historic spaces.

The reception will provide a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere in which participants can meet colleagues, reconnect with the community, and begin their ICMI 2026 experience. Food and refreshments will be served.

Situated on the scenic Posillipo hillside and overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Villa Vittoria offers an elegant and panoramic setting for an enjoyable evening with the ICMI community. The banquet will provide participants with an opportunity to continue conversations, strengthen professional connections, and experience one of the most distinctive areas of Naples.

Transportation will be provided by the conference. Dedicated buses will bring participants from the conference venue to Villa Vittoria Posillipo and back. Further information about departure and return times will be announced closer to the conference.
