The submission format is the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>double-column<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> ACM conference format. The length depends on the different submission categories:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Long paper<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">: maximum length is 8 pages<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Short paper<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">: maximum length is 4 pages<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Blue Sky paper: <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">maximum length is 4 pages<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Note:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>References <\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i><b>do not count<\/b><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i> towards the page limit. Papers can have additional pages beyond their page limits that are used exclusively for references. Up to two supporting files also could be submitted. Supporting file can be a PDF for the appendix. Videos or source code can also be submitted, in a ZIP file. Supplementary material is optional during the review process. In other words, review assessments will be primarily done based on the content of the main paper, not the supplementary material.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_wikcf1l3tta7\"><\/a> <span style=\"color: #072f93;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Prior publications<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Papers submitted at ICMI 2025 must not have been published previously. A paper is considered to have been published previously if it has appeared in a peer-reviewed journal, magazine, book, or meeting proceedings that is reliably and permanently available afterwards in print or electronic form to non-attendees, regardless of the language of that publication. A paper, substantially similar in content to one submitted to ICMI 2025, should not be simultaneously under consideration in any other venue including for another conference or workshop or journal. ICMI 2025 does not consider a paper on arXiv.org and other open repositories as a dual submission, however, the papers deposited to paid-access repositories (such as ResearchGate, Academia) will not be accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_8ufh9rlh0g8p\"><\/a> <span style=\"color: #072f93;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Anonymization and mandatory contents<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The reviewing for all tracks will be double-blind, so submissions must be anonymous: do not include the authors\u2019 names, affiliations, or any clearly identifiable information in the paper (including in the Acknowledgments and references). It is appropriate to cite past work of the authors if these citations are treated like any other (e.g., \u201cSmith [5] approached this problem by\u2026.\u201d). The authors can omit references only if it would be obvious to identify them. Program chairs will desk-reject non-anonymous papers after reviewing begins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">After the paper submission deadline, the author list and author order will be considered <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>as final<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. After that date, authors cannot be switched, added or removed. Changes to the authorship will be permitted only in exceptional circumstances after validation by the program and publication chairs. The final submission will require a valid ORCID ID for all authors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Authors are encouraged to fill at submission time ACM Categories &amp; Subject Descriptors sections and Author Keywords at submission time. This information is mandatory on the first page of your final version to appear in the proceedings and ACM Digital Library. If your submission is accepted, you will be notified within the acceptance notification of the updated ICMI 25 ACM copyright-permission text to include in the camera-ready version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT) is permitted, but all authors are responsible for the content created by these tools, and the use of the tools must be disclosed. Please see the updated ACM policy on authorship for detailed guidelines: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/policies\/new-acm-policy-on-authorship\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><u>https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/policies\/new-acm-policy-on-authorship<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_fg12g8hep5l8\"><\/a> <span style=\"color: #072f93;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Preparing paper with Latex<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Submitted papers should conform to the latest ACM LaTeX. For LaTeX templates and examples, download the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/portalparts.acm.org\/hippo\/latex_templates\/acmart-primary.zip\"><span style=\"color: #2ea3f2;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">acmart-primary.zip<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> file. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>To prepare the 2-column submission<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, authors should use the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>sample-sigconf.tex<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> template with <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>\\documentclass[sigconf,anonymous,review]{acmart}<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> to add line numbers and anonymize the author information. Please note that a non-anonymous author block may require a larger space than the anonymized version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">If you are including any LaTeX packages in your article, they must be part of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/authors.acm.org\/proceedings\/production-information\/accepted-latex-packages\"><span style=\"color: #2ea3f2;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">list of accepted packages<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. The set of instructions also includes other important information, for example, the use of \\citestyle and the mandatory use of \\Description{} commands for the figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_iij7clfp1kll\"><\/a> <span style=\"color: #072f93;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Preparing paper with Word<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Authors who decide to use the Word template should be aware that an extra validation step will be required during the camera-ready process for accepted papers (see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/authors.acm.org\/proceedings\/production-information\/preparing-your-article-with-microsoft-word\"><span style=\"color: #2ea3f2;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Preparing Your Article with Microsoft Word<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\">). At the camera-ready stage, use of free software like LibreOffice, for instance will not be possible as finalizing the article will require the usage of Word macros provided by ACM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To prepare your submission using Word, you can use the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/word_style\/interim-template-style\/interim-layout.docx\"><span style=\"color: #2ea3f2;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2-column ACM Word interim template<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_v45rhxnk550s\"><\/a> <span style=\"font-size: large; color: #ff0000;\"><b>Safe and Responsible Innovation Statement <em>(NEW in ICMI 2025)<\/em><\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">As part of our commitment to ethical and responsible research and aligned with this year\u2019s conference theme, i.e. Safe and Responsible Multimodal Interaction, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>all submissions to ICMI must include a Safe and Responsible Innovation Statement (around 100 words).<\/strong><\/span> This statement should briefly address potential societal impacts, ethical considerations, and responsible deployment of the work. Authors should consider aspects such as data privacy, bias mitigation, inclusivity, and potential risks or misuse of their contributions. The goal is to encourage reflection on the broader implications of multimodal interaction research and ensure responsible innovation. <em>This statement must be included in the 8-page limit for submissions (excluding references). The rebuttal period will be followed by a discussion period between the reviewers and Senior Program Committee members (not visible to authors). Authors will be notified of the final decision soon after.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_a6zfyzadsqik\"><\/a> <span style=\"color: #072f93;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Online Submission<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To be eligible for full paper submission, authors <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>must<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> submit a relevant abstract by the abstract submission deadline. Abstract submission is done through the PCS system. Authors should create a submission without uploading a PDF and submit it before the abstract deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">After the abstract submission deadline, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>new submissions will not be allowed<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. However, authors will be able to update their existing abstract submission with the full paper. The <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>paper title and author list must remain unchanged<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> between the abstract and full paper submission. Failure to submit a relevant abstract on time will make the paper ineligible for review.
