Registration

ICMI 2024 is an in-person conference. We are pleased to welcome you to San José Costa Rica, hosting ICMI for the first time in a Latin American country.

If none of the co-authors of your paper are able to attend the conference in-person, please contact promptly the ICMI Program Chairs (icmi2024-program-chairs@acm.org) so that the conference schedule can be updated.

Please keep in mind the following important dates:

Registration closes October 14th, 2024 (or until max. capacity is reached)

 

Most nationalities have easy access to the country, but a few require a consular visa. The process for obtaining it can be lengthy depending on your country, so please be advised to do so with enough time. Check https://icmi.acm.org/2024/visas/

 Important information
  • Registration deadline at September 13, 11:59PM (CST time) : At least one author of each long or short paper (main* or adjunct**) must register before this date for that paper to be included in the proceedings.
  • Full student registration covers only one regular long or short paper (main or adjunct).
  • Full non-student regular registration covers up to two regular long or short papers (main or adjunct).
  • Full registration from a developing country (student and non-student) covers only one regular long or short paper (main or adjunct).
  • Registration Coverage (full) covers three main days of conference events (November 5 to 7) and the two satellite event days of co-located workshops, tutorials, challenges, and the Doctoral Consortium (November 4 and 8). It includes coffee breaks for the main conference and workshop days, lunch for the main conference (satellite days not included), a welcome reception on Tuesday 5 evening, and the banquet on November 6.
  • Workshop-day Only Coverage covers all satellite events (workshops, tutorials, grand challenges) only for attendance of one satellite day (either Monday 4 or Friday 8) with coffee breaks. Attending 2 satellite days requires full registration.
  • Social Outing on Saturday 9th to a tourist destination is planned (not covered by registration). Booking and payment for this activity will be on-site, via a separate tour operator.
  • Additional tickets for the banquet will only be available on-site, depending on space.

*Main paper: Main Track – Long and Short papers, Blue Sky papers, Doctoral Consortium, Grand Challenges, Workshop summaries.
**Adjunct Paper: Late Breaking Results, Tutorials, Demonstrations and Exhibits, Workshops.

Discounted Registrations

Discounts will be available during registration for individuals who live and work or study in economically developing countries. Note that these discounts are available only to ACM members. Becoming an ACM member is also more accessible for people in developing countries.

Please follow the instructions at the end of your registration to apply for this discount. The following discount categories apply:

  • Category H: 40% of the cost (60% discount)
  • Category I: 25% of the cost (75% discount)
