ICMI is the premier international forum for multidisciplinary research on multimodal human-human and human-computer interaction, interfaces, and system development.
The research presented at ICMI contributes to areas including user interfaces for use in cars, interactions with social robots, training for public speakers, and gesture-based interaction (think “Minority Report”).
ICMI 2017 will feature a single-track main conference which includes: keynote speakers, technical full and short papers (including oral and poster presentations), special sessions, demonstrations, exhibits and doctoral spotlight papers.
The conference will also feature workshops and grand challenges.
The conference attracts researchers in relevant areas of computing science and representatives from innovative companies at the forefront of technological developments from around the world.
Delegate numbers of around 200 people are typical.
From 13th – 17th November 2017, University of Glasgow will play host to ICMI – a testimony to the world-class research in human computer interaction, social robotics, and multimodal interaction conducted within the School of Computing Science.

Data Challenge
There are opportunities for forward thinking companies to engage directly with the conference delegates by setting a data challenge prior to the conference, the results of which are presented on Friday 17th November.
Companies provide a dataset and set questions or define problems that participating delegates can use their specialised skill sets to solve.
Companies can gain new insights into their own data sets, or new approaches to solving existing problems, whilst raising the profile of their brand, their career opportunities, and standing in the research community.
Exhibition Space
There are opportunities for research teams and companies to exhibit their work and products at the conference.
Contact the sponsorship team to discuss your needs.
